Multicultural Counseling
Cultural diversity is defined as “respect, engage, honor, and embrace diversity and a multicultural approach that supports the worth, dignity, potential, and uniqueness of people within their social and cultural context (Grand Canyon University. 2018)”
02
Self Care
We hear self care a lot now but what does it mean? Self care simply means to take care of one's self. Mental health professionals, First responders and health care workers experience burn out in very high rates. So, it is especially important for those in these fields to take care of ourselves so we are still fit to do the work.

Multicultural Counseling
Apart of multicultural counseling is to understand and look at a person wholistically. To consider and understand how the the role of race, ethnicity, culture, life circumstances, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status can be a factor in one’s mental health. But also in every aspect of the treatment process.

Self Care
My self care routine includes doing the small things like getting my hair done, taking a nap, or reading a book. But what truly relaxes me is getting waxed. Recently As part of self care I have been finding new things to enjoy such as learning to crochet, taking walks for exercise and even doing my own therapy as part of best practices to stay psychologically fit.
